Leonardo Borrazá, Ed.D
Doctor of Instructional Technology and Distance Education ⤷Dissertation

I was born in the tiny island nation of Cuba in the proletariat and somewhat inconsequential small-town of Sagua La Grande, in the province of Las Villas. Shortly after I was born, my father (Leonardo Sr.) fled the oppressive, despotic communist country on a small boat and sought political asylum in the United States. After about two years of living in the states, my father initiated the legal process that would allow my mother (Elvira) and I to immigrate to America.

After immigrating to the States, I lived with my parents in New Jersey for a short time. My parents then moved to South Florida, where I have lived most of my life; I attended elementary school (Flamingo Elementary), middle school (Miami Springs Middle School), and high school (Miami Springs Sr. High School) in the city of Hialeah.

My professional background is in the Information Systems and Technology field. I have worked as a software developer, systems administrator, and have served as Director of Information Systems for several companies in both Dade and Broward counties. A few years ago, I decided to shift my career toward the field of educational technology. As a result, I pursued and have since earned a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Instructional Technology and Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University.
